Need
Betsson was looking to promote their El Classico campaign, a competition in which participants had the chance to win a trip to the football match between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in Spain. The objective was to generate as many sign ups as possible for the competition and at the same time recruit new players to Betssons online gaming service.
Solution
We utilized one of our sites - www.FMSweden.se – as a platform for the campaign. FMSweden is Scandinavia’s largest community for the computer game Football Manager, with over 30 000 registered members and a reach of around 70 000 unique visitors a month. The average visitor is an 18 – 35 year old football/soccer enthusiast, thus fitting the campaign promotion perfectly. Betsson gave us one week to boost their campaign and we - in cooperation with Betssons media agency Wisely - decided to spread the message with a 200x600 banner, e-mail blast, news post and a forum thread.
Results
- 48% of traffic driven to the landing page converted into sign-ups for the competition
- 17.93% of the competition participants registered for membership on Betsson.com
