The need

Tradebay is a classifieds ads site with it’s headquarters in Greece. They contacted us to save the re-development of their site, which had surpassed it’s deadline and was becoming an issue of concern. After a thorough analysis of the work that had been done (by another agency), we quickly came to the conclusion that rewriting all of the code was necessary. The website was suffering from severe security leaks, non-semantic code and heavy use of inline CSS & JavaScript.

The solution

We estimated the complete redevelopment of the site - and the addition of some new key-features - to take approximately two months to complete. After agreeing on project scope and deadline we began analysing how we could improve the layout and functionality of the website, such as the ad-listings and the home page. We concluded that some adjustments had to be made, thus we implemented the changes accordingly.

Throughout the development process we regularly kept the client up-to-date with updates and working prototypes of the site. Discussions with the client, input and feedback were all instrumental factors in making the project a success.

The results

During the latter stages of the site development, Tradebay asked us to make a Swedish version of the website. We regard this as a true testament of client satisfaction.

• A fully tailored admin panel with control over ads, users, categories and subcategories
• A hand-coded ad-management system for targeting banner adverts to specific categories
• A payment system with support for ZayPay and PayPal
• Ad customization with a WYSIWYG-editor
• A swedish version of the website
